ONE shock with the collar stopped our newly inherited Austrailian Shepherd from ever leaving the yard again. In fact, for the next 3 days we had to drag him out of the house to go potty. Once he would let us walk him around the perimiter of the yard to "hear" his boundaries, he relaxed quite a bit. Within a few days he was out and about as usual - just not roaming the town or chasing cars & joggers.

This fence was exactly what I needed. My 6 month old Australian Shephard kept jumping the fence and getting in the road. I found other invisible fences that were $250-350, which was more than I wanted to spend. This was the cheapest one I found. The main feature I see lacking is the ability to apply a shock with a remote controll. There have been a few early mornings where I wish I could discourage barking. However, I don't know that I'd have paid an extra[$] for that ability. The wire itself took me about 3 hours to install on an 1/8 or an acre lot. I used my edger to dig the trough, then just went behind it on my hands and knees burying the wire. I still have plenty of wire left over too. You also have the ability to make some custom "no-zones" around gardens and what not, though I did not do anything fancy.Setting up the controller and connecting the wires could not have been any easier. Training was no problem either. My dog has run thru the barrier once or twice, but always knows she's done wrong. The system isn't full proof, but has worked wonders on my dog. Best [$]I've spent on her yet.
We had trouble starting off but not because the product wasn't good - because our dog was hard to train. She is so afraid of everything that I had to drag her around the boundaries at first. Then after she heard the warning tone she was afraid to go off the porch. Finally I decided to let her out without the leash and eventually she wandered around and figured out her own boundry points. Now she is playing around in the yard and having a great time. We still have to worry about her chasing something that catches her eye because she is very fast. Really nice product.

this product was great and trained the untrainable
My dog had learned how to jump the existing chain length fence. Now with the addition of the invisible fence we can keep her contained and other dogs remain out.

We have a Fox Terrier who would bark non stop behind the fence. Without his protection, he has stopped barking so much. Even the neighbors have commented how well the product works.
Would reccomend to all.
We purchased this item to keep our dog away from the backdoor and back patio area...but especially to keep him away from our neighbors dog. Because we have a chainlink fence and their dog is not fixed or given proper shots, we wanted to keep him away. It is very safe and effective. However, the collar can come off and it costs [$] to replace. Our solution was to add a plastic cable twist tie that locks in place, but can be easily cut off to remove the collar. We plan on purchasing an additional collar for our other pet as soon as he reaches the recommended weight. This can me used over or under ground. At one point, while waiting for the new collar to arrive, our dog was actually already trained not to cross and it took him about three days to realize that he could cross over without the shock.

This product works great and is keeping my dogs in my yard without a problem. However, I do wish I would have bought the UltraSmart version the support rep told me about. I really could use a little more flexibility as I have 2 dogs with different personalities. All in all, a great product. A+++
