Easily carried, opened, folded and stored, these lightweight steps safely improve your pet’s mobility and fold down to mere inches when not in use.
SafeWay Pet Steps first step acts as a super stable base that gives your pet confidence; your pet will feel that he’s walking on solid ground. In your vehicle, place the SafeWay Pet Steps top platform on the floor of vehicle with base platform on the ground. For indoor use, place top platform on your couch or chair, or insert it between the mattress and box springs for super stability. Unlike permanent step products, which are bulky and can get in the way, SafeWay Pet Steps stows neatly away between uses. Place it under a car seat or in the trunk, or fold and slide under the couch or bed frame when not in use.
Your SafeWay Pet Steps folds up to a compact square with a handle made from a nylon strap and rubber hand hold, for comfortable carrying. Optional factory-installed casters/wheels are available for easy movement of your folded SafeWay Pet Steps; the 4-wheel set includes 2 on the top platform and 2 on the bottom platform. Quality indoor-outdoor carpet covers the steps for excellent traction. This fabric is UV stabilized, has a low nap so it won’t catch on your pet's claws, and can be simply hosed down to clean it clean and looking good.
Measure the height from the ground up to the surface your pet needs to reach, to determine the size SafeWay Pet Steps you need to order (3, 4 or 5 steps). Each size adjusts in an accordion fashion within a range of heights from low to high, as shown below. Please note that as you adjust the height of your SafeWay Pet Steps, the rise of each step will also change (lower height = lower stair rise, steeper height = greater stair rise). Next, consider the width* that’s best for your pet (12" and 16" in the aluminum models; and 18" wide in the larger versions). Larger dogs and those with mobility issues do better with wider steps. All SafeWay Pet Steps models hold up to 250 lbs. for safe use by all pets. Our 18" size is not made from Aluminum, but from ABS which is the same material used for football helmets and bowling balls. This ensures that now matter what youR pooch is in safe hands regardless of weight.
*For cars and sedans, make sure the car door opens wide enough to accommodate the width of the Pet Loader you are considering!
Please Note: The casters are wheels that are installed on the front of the bottom step and top step. After much testing we found that this allows the steps to be the most mobile without unnecessary strain. Casters do cost extra and will come installed with you pet steps.
