We use the gate to keep our two dogs in the kitchen and family room area at night and when we are not at home. It is easy to set up and the door mechanism is easy to use. I gave this four stars because I had to reinforce the pin at the bottom that the gate door hinges on (it broke off after a few weeks). It is a weak point of the whole thing. I'm pretty handy, though, and put a nut and bolt through a hole I drilled in the door and base. It will never fail again!Would recommend this to a friend? recommended

One of our dogs is a jumper. This gate contains her while allowing the humans easy access to the stairway with the one-hand opening and self-closing features. It is truly easy to install and remove from opening with no tools required.Would recommend this to a friend? recommended

A perfect containment solution. I have it at the entrance to my kitchen and it blends beautifully into my decor. It is easy to assemble and doesn't mark the walls. Its smooth finish is easy on the eyes and the hands. The only drawback is that it automatically closes all the time. On the one hand, that is terrific, but if you want to keep the gate open, you have to rig some way of propping it open. Overall, an excellent buy. I'll be buying more.Would recommend this to a friend? recommended
