I have the gate at the top of my stairs and it works terrific. You have to keep in mind that the full width of the gate swings open, so you need the space to accommodate the gate when it opens. It is best used for a space where you will keep it closed most of the time. Also, it requires installation directly into a wall, so it would not be a good pick if you're only thinking of using it for a few months.Would recommend this to a friend? recommended
