My rescue dog was overall good, but even after obediance training she still would bolt if she knew she was not on a leash.
This collar was exactly what I needed to allow her the freedom of running around, and still having control. I now have the control on the lowest shock possible (which my husband tested on his arm) PLUS it just emits a sound for the first 2 seconds and ONLY shocks if I keep pressing the control. I dont even know the last time she got shocked because 1 - I hardly have to use it and 2 - When I do she just hears the beep and changes her behavior before the shock comes.
This gives me a HUGE piece of mind, and my dog can be a dog. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!Would recommend this to a friend? Yes

My dog would go crazy on walks when he saw other dogs or people. After the Free Spirit, and a few corrections, he is 100% improved! Now he thinks twice about bad behaivor! I just tell him, "be good, you have your collar on." and he knows, so I dont have to zap him like I did initially! I like the hand held controller, it is light weight and even fits on a lanyard that I wear while on walks. The battery last long as I turn it off after each use. The inside is programmable for higher correction which I did only once. Pretty easy to do ( I am not that techno inclined and I did it!). It has changed my life now. I dreaded walks, now I can go without the fear and stress!!Would recommend this to a friend? recommended

I have a 10 month lab with his own way of doing things. He refuses to listen to my wife, takes food off the counter, eats out of the garbage and only minds when he wants. That all changed within an hour of having the collor on. In two weeks he should be a new dog.Would recommend this to a friend? recommended

This is my first very active dog. He's 5 months old. He is rough and tough and solid. He is an Australian Cattle dog. He needs lots of exercise, and gets it for the most part. He loves to play rough and jump up and ignore my call when he decides to run off. He tries to play rough with the cats and eat their cat food and steal their toys. He wants to chase cars and people. He digs holes and pulls up plants. He is a tough nut to crack, but he's so loving. So this is my first electronic collar. I've had to adjust it a few times and now on level 4 it works most of the time. I use the beep to warn him and most of the time that works so he doesn't have to get shocked, because I dislike shocking him. (The shock should not cause him to cry.) However, when he is intent on running or disobeying, even the boost has a hard time getting him to listen immediately. I may need to put it up another level because he seems to have gotten used to it. I don't like that. But for the most part, the beep gets him to stop and he is bahaving much better now. I expect not to be needing it pretty soon. PS-please do not ever shock him/her for the full 10 seconds--that would be animal abuse. Again the beep is an excellent thing to have and use. There is no need to shock your dog everytime. It is a good product and has helped alot. Please be responsible with it.Would recommend this to a friend? recommended

Works well if you are NEAR the dog- if you are farther away (still in the 150 yd range) it doesn't always work. Also hard to tell when dog is being affected.Would recommend this to a friend? not recommended

We were trying to keep our pit bull and our Gr. Pyrannes from barking and "fighting" through the fence with our neighbor's dog, who was experiencing a very long post-surgical rehab. My little pit only took 2 shocks at the first level and she TOTALLY got it! She no longer goes near the fence when the neighbor is walking her dog. My big dog is another story; he is bred to bark, but the collar (on the 4th level) is starting to make him think about barking at my neighbor w/ her dog on the leash! I have confidence that w/ another week of training sessions he'll also be off the fence. He is very dominant, stoic, and INDEPENDENT - minded, but collar is working as well as anything and we are very pleased.
I plan to teach my pit not to chase my chickens next!Would recommend this to a friend? recommended
