this is exactly what I needed to train my chocolate lab. I have only used the shock function on a few occasions,he responds to the page so good. I will say start low when using as all dogs are more or less tolerant. I would recommend this to anyone with a dog who has attention issuesWould recommend this to a friend? Yes

Hi, I recently purchased an NCP280. My dog is a German Shepherd who is purely a pet/companion. He's very well behaved in general, but when outside off-leash, getting him to come when called was like flipping a coin. He would bolt across the street to greet a neighbor, or ignore me if he found an interesting scent in the woods. Enticing him with a treat would work sometimes, but not if he had "something better" to do. Well the NCP280 changed that. He's very smart and he learned very quickly that not heeding my call of "Come here" results in an unpleasant sensation. Now, just the page vibration is enough to remind him to come when I call him. I continue to reward his good behavior, but the collar gave me the ability to alter the unwanted behavior at the exact moment it happens, something I wasn't able to do previously. It's an excellent product, solid construction, waterproof and with easy to find buttons. The only shortcoming is that there's no quick-release feature on the collar strap.Would recommend this to a friend? recommended

I have a 5 month old boxer who loves to explore. I trained her to listen to my commands when I'm outside very well, but when she sees any little animal or person she won't listen to anything I say. Since I got the collar I trust her more outside with me, she tried going after a squirrel and when she didn't listen to my command I shocked her and she came right back to me. Now I only have to use the vibrate setting to have her attention. I also use it on walks so she doesn't try to pull all the time. Overall I would prefer this product to a friend to use on there dog.Would recommend this to a friend? recommended

My black lab is about a 1.5 years old, and he doesn't have the best manners (probably from lacking on my part)...but he is also super energetic and wired all the time. This is all good and fine, I like a dog with energy...but not when his ears turn off when not on the leash. I really want to look out for his safety and to get him to the point where he will listen to me off leash and respond. This product does exactly what I was looking for. It has helped Rooney to listen to my commands off leash, which is a big help in keeping him from roads and other hazards. It will even get him to respond to me with distractions all around. The next step is to work it into correcting other behaviors and see how the results go.Would recommend this to a friend? recommended

I was initially concerned about what the collar would do but I had to do something. I let my dog run everyday but he does not always listen when I call him back. I only had to use the collar twice and I have not had a problem with him running off since. Thank you!Would recommend this to a friend? recommended

I am the owner of two wild hound dogs. They used to tear through the house to bark at people walking down our street. They used to try to dig to China. They used to knock my company down. They used to relentlessly beg or just take from the dinner table! NO more! The have the 2 dog model and it has worked wonders. This product gives you the choice to zap or just vibrate the collar. I have only had to nick one of my dogs once. I typically use the vibrate option and they stop whatever they are doing immediately. Bad behavior has pretty much stopped in 2 weeks time. This product is definately worth the expense. The collars and the handset are all rechargeable. There isnt a need to spend even more money on batteries. I am now using the vibrate function to train them on the leash. I can actually "walk" them now instead of them running me. I am highly impressed with this product and do not regret my purchase. BUY THIS COLLAR!!Would recommend this to a friend? recommended

If you use this product wisely your dog will respond to your commands within a few training sessions. If you stick the remote in your pocket like I do, then you have to be careful that your settings don't change. Other than that, its a great product for the advanced dog owner.Would recommend this to a friend? recommended

I and my amstaff have been using this product for about 1.5 weeks and I'm very impressed by its effectiveness.
My dog is around 4 y.o. and she is highly excitable. When she sees another animal (cat, dog, goat, cow, etc.) she gets uncontrollable and do not hear my commands.
She is also aggressive against kids and those people who are thought to be on her territory (especially neighbours).
And one more problem with the dog's behavior was that the dog run away once it was released from lead. So I had to walk with the dog only with muzzle and lead.
After purchasing a training colar I am able to correct the dog's behaviour immediately. Now she does not run away once she is released and listen to my commands even when she is highly excited.
It took me only one training to train the dog to walk with me without using a lead.
I'd recomment this product to those dog owners who want to correct their dog's behavior but they have to mange this product VERY VERY CAREFULLY, PROPERLY AND CORRECT in order not to spoil the results of trainings.Would recommend this to a friend? recommended
